Halls of the Hunting Axe
The tumbled stones of this ancient dwarfhold are visible from atop the Stone Bridge. Once a grand and important city in the ancient Shield Dwarf city of Besilmer, now reputed to be nothing but monster haunted ruins. Foundations of walls just like lines of stone teeth from thickets of trees and creeping vines. The few cathedral-like halls that do stand have no equal in the North. People braved the dangers there to find shards from magnificent windows of stained glass to incorporate into locally blown glass bottles.
Travellers usually give the Halls of the Hunting Axe a wide berth because no matter how many times adventurers have cleared out creatures living there, more return after the adventurers have left.
Many dwarves and most local Harpers believe King Torhild Flametongue, the founder of Besilmer, lies entombed here somewhere beneath the Halls. The legend also says the tomb has a curse laid on it, effecting anyone who finds and opens the tomb.
